Confirmation Program

Confirmation is a life-long commitment to learning and growing in Christ. A three-year course instructs our 6th-8th graders and prepares them for the Rite of Confirmation.

During the 3rd-5th grade years we prepare our children for certain milestones in their lives, such as First Communion. Our classes meet for four sessions during a particular month—please refer to the chart below. During the month of October, 3rd graders, will prepare for the giving of Bibles, the milestone for the third-grade.

In February, the fourth graders will prepare for their First Communion or for the Communion Milestone, if they have already begun receiving communion. As in the past, parents are encouraged to decide when their children are ready to begin receiving communion; some will choose an earlier year, and others as late as 8th grade. Please talk with Pastor Kurt if you have any concerns or questions about what is right for your child.

Parents will get to create an inscription plate and sign it personally for their child, and during the service, the parents will also present the Bible to their child.
