Week One--July
14-18, Monday - Friday
Speaking and Living for Jesus
A Bible and Arts Program for Our Community
A Harlem Renaissance experience--this exciting program uses the rich
oral history of African American faith inspired by traditions from James
Weldon Johnson's God's Trombones to today's poetry and rap. Using John
1:1 as its basis, Word Up! follows God's Word from creation to the
Living Word--Jesus--to the preached word, to the spoken word. Children
and Adults from varying walks of life will be encouraged as we tell our
own stories and experience God's Word in song, rap, movement, art,
crafts, foods, and James Weldon Johnson's poetry.
Along with this rich Bible theme, our camp will also put on a play
for our parents and friends. So this will be a week full of music,
acting, singing, storytelling, crafts, and friendship.

Last year
we had a
great Camp Galilee, with 33 campers and many adults and youth leading. A
wonderful presentation was given to families and friends on Friday, at 4 PM,
and on the following Sunday at the 10:30 AM service.
This music and drama camp has worked hard to present:
“Roamin’ through Romans.”
We thank
our leaders who made Camp Galilee possible:

Pastor Carolyn Arness, Renee Jarvis, and Mary Sortland,
and extra help
from Mari Barosay.
